A Saint In Ukraine

Why do I want to help Ukraine women kids and single moms? I was asked in a comment, Rod are you a saint in Ukraine? No of course not but I do like to help people.

On one of my first trips to Ukraine I was asked do you want to visit a Ukraine orphanage with me? I declined that time, I love children and did not know if I could handle to see this. I was very selfish thinking of me, not the kids! Many of my friends in visit Orphanages. There are over 100,000 orphans in Ukraine and growing because of the conflict in the South East. I am now taking clothes to help these children. Clothes are a big cost in Ukraine, you can buy a new shirt or eat for a week. Most do not have much and the single moms have a huge problem. Here is a fact, depending on what group you research. The number of Christians is between 80 to 90{77d98b13d243b44f31c75ad84883e5d111de0b8c49265fea6922cba70cebec2f} of the population. They are good people!

Singel Mom

I once met a woman she was a single mom had a very nice son five years old. I was told he did not know his father.I gave him a toy and he was very appreciative of this. By the end of the day, he called me dad, what a cool thing that was.

The single moms of Ukraine live a very humble and hard life. A woman on her own makes about $200 a month so with a child you can see what she faces. One woman, I met a few trips ago she was a single mom I could see she was struggling. We just finished lunch in my apartment and I offered her some money, she refused. I had plenty of food so I ask would you like to take some food she accepted. I packed a bag of sausage, cheese some sugar and a loaf of bread. I also slipped $50 dollars into the bag. I receive a call a few hours later from her. Thanking me for the nice gift, told me I help her with her rent. Most women will not accept money!

Single mom

Another friend I have she is also a single mom. I wanted to get her daughter a present for her birthday. I asked Marina what toy should I get your daughter, she said she does not need a toy.

She seemed to be upset with me at this point. I asked her what is wrong did I do something wrong? She said no it is just I do not want you to spend your money on me and my child. I later asked Marina’s mother what I should get for her granddaughter. She said there is only one thing she needs clothes, I said come with me tomorrow help me. We went to a store and shopped her grandmother said she needs a winter coat so I got one. I said she needs pants and shirts and clothes for school. The grandmother was shocked at all the things I had. She said you are going to buy all this for my granddaughter? She had the biggest smile and a slight tear in her eye. It is great to see people appreciate what you do for them.

One village Lanchyn in the Ivano-Frankivs’ka oblast has not many women. Most left to find work they leave their families and send money to their children.

But they do not return to the kids, so the kids raise themselves. It is very sad but you have to do what you have to, to provide for your child. If you like to view a documentary of this sad life the women face click this link. Women Of Ukraine

I was once told by a Ukraine single mom that if she were to marry a man from an English speaking country, it would be like winning the lottery!

Single Divorced Mom

I was puzzled, I said not all of these men will be rich. She answered I work seven days a week 12 hours a day to support me and my daughter. If I would only work 8 hours and five days a week, it would be a dream. Plus have a good man by my side it would be, my lottery. I understood what she meant by this, I can not even imagine how some live. I wish to help all of them the single women and girls but the most pleasure is to find a good man for the single moms of Ukraine. I started this company to help the men that were being scammed by online dating sites. After meeting so many single women and hearing their stories, I am now helping the women there. By finding a good secure man for them to meet and date.

There is so much generosity in Ukraine people give what they do not need to neighbors. I was asked by my girlfriend to go to the market to buy some things for bourch.

It is a great vegetable soup! She gave me a list of things she needed. When I got to the store I realized I did not ask the portions she needed. When I was at the checkout I see I have quite a bit of food, I did not want to take it back. When I arrived at the apartment Elena said why did you get so much, we are not feeding everyone in the building. Elena took out some plastic bags and started to divide the food. Some carrots, cabbage beats and other things I bought. She said common Rod let us go see the neighbors, we walk through the halls of the building. Knocking on doors and giving the food to them, everyone said thank you. Elena looked at me and said I guess I was wrong we did feed everyone in the building, laughing at me!

Ukraine women are very kind and also willing to help anyone they see that needs help. My family is the same way always trying to help one another.

I can help you with the culture and custom dating mistakes many Western men make with a Ukraine girl. Something simple we in America would say to our woman. There it could be a date breaker!!

  2. Thank you for the kind words but I am far from a saint. I love these people they are very kind and happy it is hard not to help.

  3. Rod,
Your article is inspirational. In this day we live, it’s hard for any single parent. I don’t have any kids myself, but i have seen the struggles of family members and friends.
It takes a selfless man/person to improve the lives of others.
Question: Do you still have contact with the young boy who called you “dad”?

  4. This is a great thing, to help the people suffering from situations caused by people having interests and not thinking how the general population has to cope with it.
I met a lot of people from the region and know they are good-hearted.
    Keep up your good work

  5. That is an awful lot of orphans to care for. Do they have organizations in other countries that assist them with food and clothes? It is extremely generous of you to help as many children as you can.

  6. Hi is this true how can such a poor country be generous? What do they have to give. I would like very much if I could meet such a sweet lady as you mention.

  7. It is strange I did not set out to do this, I fell in love with the people there. I see how kind they can be I can not help myself I have to.

  8. Thanks, Stefan, you know what I am talking about when I say they are very kind people! I hope to one day set up some organization, but for now, it is one at a time.

  9. Yes, Tanya, many countries help but it is not enough as always. There are also many foreign people that adopt the kids. Thank you for your kind words.

  10. Let me tell you, I met a woman she did not have much. I was with her and her child for a few days very nice family. When it was time to leave she gave me a gift a teacup. She has nothing but she wanted me to remember her when I have my tea. You could meet many kind women if you came with me.
