The online dating sites partner up with the agency, they will refer a man that is coming to Ukraine. When he is to meet a woman from a site he has to pay for her private information. It can be from $70 all the way up to $300.

Once he pays for the so-called private phone number, email, and address. Depending on the company one of two things happen.

Either he gets a dummy email and phone number, which is not hers, it is the agencies. Most of the time it is @gmail, so when he sends an email it goes to the agency. This is how everything is controlled. It is not a real date!

I remember the first time I went to Ukraine so unprepared so nieve about a country that has many great things about it. I did not even know how to say simple hello or goodbye. Now my Russian is better but not the best, I started to learn it but found I did not need it. Yes, more and more people are learning English now. It is not required in schools. From what I see and hear more of the younger people are speaking English nowadays.

If I have a problem and need someone to help me translate, I turn to the teenagers or even kids as young as 10 years old.

Most of the kids speak English I have found.  It is a little rude to ask do you speak English! I have learned if you at least try to speak their language, it will get you a long way with the people. Ask in Russian or Ukrainian a question more likely than not you will find someone who can help you.

If I have not been to Ukraine so many times in my life I would be telling a different story now. The first time I was in Ukraine was one of the worst times but also the best time I have had in my life. If I only knew some of the dating cultures back then. I am not trying to be a pessimist to challenge all the sites who write about this. I have been to many countries, also to many cities in the USA. Are Swedes more beautiful, or do they just have a better public health system?

 

First, I do not ascribe to the idea of “national beauty” or the national ranking systems that have little scientific validity. Social and popular media are obsessed with the idea that Swedish women are among the world’s most beautiful. A dubious online source called Traveller’s Digest claims Sweden tops their list of countries with the hottest looking women. (The country’s men also rank No. 1). Such rankings amount to Internet silliness.

I traveled to Sweden in 1990 for about a week, staying with friends I met in India (Eva and Eva — yes the real names). I found many people I met there to be healthy and attractive, but not to an extreme. I did find an excessive amount of out of control binge drinking in the social circles my generous hosts ran with, particularly among college-age and slightly older Swedes. In fact, globally, I have found few places that matched the excessive drinking I saw all over Sweden.

I also have seen Swedes globally, and in general many do appear more fit and healthier than the typical American, who rightly has earned a reputation as being overweight and thus unhealthy, and therefore unattractive in the eyes of many. Such data is borne out by national health statistics, as America is the fattest country on the planet, and because of that, my country does not have the reputation as Sweden does for the hottest men and hottest women, I think.

I can tell you 90% of the time it is someone being paid to write you back. If I brought you to Ukraine to introduce you to a sexy girl then tell you it is a 90% chance this girl is a scam? I would appreciate the opinion of someone who is so familiar with Ukrainian women. I am seeking a wife from Ukraine for the second time. When I did this the first time 22 years ago I was in my mid-thirties. Back then I used a magazine I found online called Scanna and wrote mailed letters. I went to Ukraine three times and eventually married Nataliya, a girl raised in a small town and who lived in Eastern Ukraine when we married. It was much simpler then!

After 20 years of marriage, we are separated and getting a divorce. I really appreciated some of the qualities of my ex, so once again I am looking for a woman from Ukraine. I tried several dating sites, and as you know most are just expensive scams. The best one I could find is a site called Go Date Now. Compared to the others it was the cheapest with a wide selection of women. Initially, I was only looking for women over 45, and I communicated with three of them for quite some time. During this time I was getting over 50 letters a day from women mostly in their early 20’s, I would briefly read the letters and dismiss them because of references to sex and the woman’s age, I just took these women as not being serious or working for the site.

However, one letter I got didn’t refer to sex or other sensationalism, just a very pleasant letter from a 31-year-old woman telling me about the difficulties of being a single mother of two young girls in Kiev. Initially, my intention was to help her with her very bad profile that said she didn’t want any “cowards” in her life. However, I have ended up communicating with this woman for over eight months now and we have exchanged a few hundred messages.
