In the past, I used a few dating or marriage agencies in Ukraine. They were very expensive in the long run. The first one I used was in Lugansk, they provided me with an interpreter. These agencies are very private they will not let you see the business address, you will not get a receipt for their services. I think for 4 days it cost me $1300 for the very unprofessional service I received. Many times I would tell the woman Anastasia the girl I was dating, a part of my life. I waited for the young interpreter to translate it for me and nothing. Her mind was somewhere else.

It was a very strange experience for me, but I had no other choice at that time. Anastasia would meet me around 11 am we would be together for 10 to 12 hours every day.

We went to the same two restaurants every day, both were very expensive. When I think about it now what a fool I was! The three of us would do nothing of interest to me, every suggestion I made would be shot down. I wanted to go to the Antonov museum, where I could see the largest aircraft ever made. I was told there were several of these aircraft you could walk through. Instead, we went to the forest.

When they saw I was getting bored or frustrated Anastasia would make me a promise. Tomorrow we will go to the market buy some meat, and thing for a cookout by the river.

Every promise she made did not come true, it was their way of keeping me paying them for the poor service I was getting. Day after day I put myself through this almost torture! I had no other choice so I thought, I look through the internet for a way out. I could not find anything or anyone that could help me. I was in a foreign country, I had no other options at that time. I tried to go out after the date was over, but Lugansk is a very difficult place to be if you do not speak Russian!

I ended up like so many men that go to Ukraine expecting some great adventure with a beautiful woman. Only to be sitting in a cafe drinking beer with the only company my server. I did not know how to approach a  woman on my own. It was so frustrating that the only thing to do was date Anastasia again in the morning. I knew by the 2nd date I did not want to be with this woman. So I ended up paying these two girls to keep me company for four days!

Another time I used a dating agency it was in Kiev, much more expensive that Lugansk. I do not remember the name of the girl I date this trip. I do remember the interpreter Julia, Very sexy girl blonde hair and a smoking hot body.

The three of us met at a travel agency in downtown Kiev. The woman I was to date I do not know what she looked like at all. We went to a sushi place, Julia was so cute with a great sense of humor. Through the date, I became more attracted to Julia then this other woman. By the end of the date, this woman knew I was not interested in her. I did not think Julia like me in any way other than she was being paid by me to translate.

When we were saying our goodbyes Julia said why don’t you ride with us to take your date home. I was a little confused by this I did not want to be with her any longer.

I did see her home it was a 30-minute taxi ride to the other side of the city. We dropped our my date first, which I thought was odd. Julia came to the back set of the cab where I was, sat real close to me which was nice. She told me I saw your profile online, she even wrote me a few times she said. When it was time for Julia to be dropped off, she asked if I would walk her to her door. As soon as we were out of the cab she looked at me and hugged me very tightly.

She said I like you, Rod, would you want to date me? I was very surprised by her, it was great I must say. I responded yes, of course, I would love to date you, Julia.

She said OK it is early still let us start tonight. We got back in the cab went to the city sat in a nice simple cafe and got to know one another. She was from a small town not far from Kiev, she did not know where her mom was. Her father was a farmer, he raised her from a young age. She told me her dream was to go to America to have a good life and family. This was the reason for her learning English so well. Her father also wished she would marry an American man. She said he would be so happy to know I am with a good man in a great country.

We dated for the remainder of my time in Kiev, she was so much fun to be with. But she was also a very jealous woman, to the point, it was a little strange at times.

When other women would be around us she would grab my are or hug me to let them know I was her man. She had no idea how much I liked her and did not want another woman. She was perfect for me, but Julia was insecure about herself. She told me her ex-was not very good to her, she caught him several times with other women. Thinking back I do not remember what happened to our relationship after I came back home.One day we just stop writing and calling one another. Every now and then she will send me a photo of her, with some simple writing. I respond to her but get nothing back, I believe she did not trust me.
